1. De kabel is ontworpen voor EIA RS-232- of RS-422-toepassingen, gebruikt als computerkabels.Er zijn meerparige kabels verkrijgbaar.Het kan op grote schaal worden gebruikt voor de controle van het productieproces en voor Device Converter.
2. RS-232, RS-422 en RS-485 worden allemaal gebruikt voor digitale gegevensoverdracht.De RS-232-standaard wordt voornamelijk gebruikt voor COM-poorten of seriële poorten van gewone computers.De RS-422 en RS-485 interfaces worden voornamelijk gebruikt om diverse apparaten in de industrie aan te sluiten.Het overdrachtstype RS-232 en RS-422 is full duplex, RS-485 indien half duplex (2 draden), full duplex (4 draden).RS-232 Maximale afstand bij 9600bps is 15 meter, RS-422 en RS-485 zijn 1200 meter.RS-232- en RS232-topologie zijn point-to-point, maar RS-485 is multi-point.De drie soorten kabels worden gebruikt voor mechanische, elektrische, signaal- en overdrachtsprocessen.
